Outreach experiences build knowledge and appreciation of this beloved Latin American musical tradition. These lecture performances are intended for musicians and non-musicians  and can be customized for all ages.

What is TANGO?

The Camarada Tango Quartet will share the world of tango music and dance with students, illustrating tango's history and place in the diverse world of Latin American Music.

Tango is a rich, passionate mix of urban culture forged together with the influence of immigrant history, originating in a melting pot of immigrants from Europe, South America, and Africa. Over time, tango made its way from the streets to the greatest concert halls around the world. Camarada’s educational and innovative performances explore a wide range of tango and Latin American music through a curated time-travel experience. Let us take your students on a musical journey from the 1900s to 21st-century commissions by Andrés Martín.

This presentation is also available with tango dance.
